never mind I was going to repeat the one I already did. But hey look at my google page:
My Google Page
February 18, 2006 - yet more computing sites - for those of you not into computing I apologize - it's just my thing at the moment, however as you can see further below I do have other interests and will from time to time offer other sites.
FOLDOC - Computing Dictionary
W3 Schools - Computing tutorials
February 17, 2006 - Transferring my website possibility - I'll have to change the name and the sign. Or for anyone else reading this - free domain from Microsoft:
Office Live (beta)
I'm reading through my Microsoft newsletters (I subscribe to a few) and I'm finding some interesting information on organization and keeping my computer running smooth. Will I ever use this info? Not sure, but if I bookmark the site then I can delete the email in good conscience:
"Optimize Your Computer..."
December 10, 2005 - so does this mean I haven't been surfing? Of course not. I just haven't seen anything of note that I wanted to bookmark - just the usual subjects. For anyone who doesn't know about Whois, you want to find the person behind a domain or IP address? Here is one place to find out (there are many others of course.):
Network Solutions Whois
November 20, 2005 - I'd forgotten about this - it's on a floppy - I'm working with Linux and was practicing mounting floppies and here this was. It's a tuning tips site for xp:
Tuning Tips
November 19, 2005 - More of a "let's talk about tech" site than info site
Tech Tutorials Tech Blogs
November 17, 2005 - thinking about travel? Another flight site:
November 10, 2005 - just for fun:
and for the garden (one where there are many deer):
November 9, 2005 - I keep thinking I'm going to keep up with all the info out there necessary for computer security and maximizing my pc and all that and subscribe to all these newsletters because of that. By the way, notice how I've stopped trying to categorize my bookmarks. I'll get around to it. See the bottom of this page to see how far I've come.
Today's newsletter articles I really need to get around to reading sometime:
94 SecurityTips
and I guess that's all for today.
November 8, 2005 - Ok, so I'm searching for more info about Feng Shui because I decided I needed a radical change in my life. Years ago (or whenever), I bought this book called Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life. I started reading it today and thought, come on this does not sound like ancient principles, is this for real? So I decided to check it out, did a Google search on feng shui and found this:
The Ancient Art of Bogus Feng Shui . Which is part of this site:
Feng Shui Ultimate Resource "Since 1995 helping Feng Shui shed its snake-oil-and-incense image". This led me to check out a reference to the Book of Burial - again the Google search and while finding a few interesting references, couldn't find a text.
Back to online texts - nope nothing on Bartleby's. But found some other online text sites:
Online Books Library (not there)
Bibliomania - Free Online Literature and StudyGuides (not there either - but interesting)
Project Gutenberg (no - 16,000 books plus foreign language and audio books as well - advertised as the oldest producer of free ebooks on the Internet)
Internet Public Library (once upon a time that is until perhaps they realized the project had become too huge to accomplish or the principals departed from higher ed...in any case, a link of links - as unfortunately so many on line references turn out to be.) - which led me to
Digital Book Index (this site does ask for a log on, but it can be bypassed - and no, it isn't there either.)
And it is at that point that I've become weary of this and wanting to move on.
Just a few more but no luck on my original search:
ibiblio the public's library and digital archive
Questia - The Online Library of Books and Journals (subscription required)
So finally a search at amazon.com (no need to link this one I think) and I found the following:
A Translation of the Ancient Chinese The Book of Burial(Zang Shu) by Guo Pu (276-324) (A Translation of the Ancient Chinese the Book of Burial(Zang Shu) By Guo Pu (276-324)) (Hardcover) list price: 109.95; used and new from 103.34. Which is why I couldn't find it in on line books.
and I finally finish with my favorite as a diversion:
The Owl Cam - still no new owls yet, but maybe this coming season
